LANDBOARDS - REPAIRS TO MINOR DAMAGE -

The advantage of carbon boards is the ease with which minor damage can be repaired using what is known as stepped or tapered sanded repair.
The damaged area is ground away such that a tapered or stepped area surrounding the damage remains.
The thickness of the original laminate is built up in progressively larger patches to match the original materials.
The patched area is cured under vacuum pressure using heat to co-cure the prepreg laminates.
For complete breaks a repair is carried out to 50% thickness of the board. Once cured the process is repeated for the other side.

LB30 After several years hard use by Marcus Woodbridge the thin section on the heel edge had been damaged
This was also repaired using double tapered sanded repair.
